The top layer of the skin is preserved while the skin needling, causes tiny micro channels within the skin. In response the skin cells release a series of growth factors and proteins which promote the production of collagen and Elastin in the skin.

At a microscopic level, proliferated skin cells, such as fibroblasts, migrate to the point of injury and transform into collagen fibers, resulting in increased fibre strength and elasticity and a thicker tissue layer.

Dermal-needling also increases the release of transforming growth factors amplifying structural change. In addition the channels made from the microneedles allow topical gels and creams to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer of the skin improving skin tone, colour and texture.
